It all started as a plan to rescue Lydia's Pub from its downward spiral, closure and eventual demolition. With a mutual love for Lydia's Four high school friends Matt, Mark, Leot and Mitch pooled their assets, ideas, and contacts together and made a bid to buy the ailing venue. On Monday, July 29, a sign was posted on the door of Broadway-area venue Lydia's Pub. “Lydia’s is closed today.” Vaguely optimistic, the venue later announced that it was shutting down for good. Lydia's Pub is no more. The effort to save the building proved to be futile. However, In the late April of 2014 after acquiring most of Lydia's contents and find a new building, the Capitol Music Club was born. Located in downtown Saskatoon, the Capitol is home to some of the best live music Saskatchewan has to offer. The Capitol boasts a solid menu full of in-house made pub-style food, with an emphasis on fresh hand made products, and daily lunch & dinner specials.
